Nice surprise today to see that this brand new image found its way to a buyer’s heart. Shot during last October’s Lenk Aelplerfest minilypse in Switzerland, this was, well, what had to work with that afternoon. I don’t mean that in a demeaning way: Cheryl was excellent and we had a lot of fun working with her. It was just strange for a minilypse, as we had only one model for everyone to shoot. It was meant to be an exterior day, hiking, sightseeing, photographing mountains and waterfalls, but unfortunately we had heavy rain for most of the day (which still made for interesting shots such as this one or this one) and we ended up in a little mountain restaurant nearby, where I did a series from which this shot is lifted. I just thought: “well, there is a window, a wooden wall, a beautiful model… let’s do something!” I placed her so I would get nice copy space, gave her some direction, and after a few shots, someone cracked a joke and she just lit up. I shot it and that was that.
