A rare treat today… a self-portrait! I don’t do them often because they’re a pain: you’re on a timer so every expression seems forced, the focus is often soft and the body positions not quite there. Plus it takes a long time just to do constant back and forth to the camera. Totally breaks the mood. So why now? Well, during the UK trip I shot a bunch of out of focus images destined to be composited. But since I’m just starting with that kind of montage, I figured I’d rather not pay a model yet and see if they work out first. So here’s one. Let’s see if it gets some attention. And, no worries, the isolated version of me is available at Istock. If you like the background, there’s an editorial shot here for that location. I can’t sell the out of focus one yet on Istock: they don’t have an open mind for such backgrounds.
