    1. Yes the resemblance was striking. No doubt it was an inspiration for the builders! Thanks for taking the time to comment. It’s nice to know I’m not writing in a complete vacuum. Have a great year.

  1. 🙂 I know what you mean , with “writing in vacuum” but aren’t we writing those blogs mainly for our own ego? And if someone finds it interesting even better. But concerning your blog , I have read every post and find it very motivating as I am working my way toward 100 approved stock photos on shutterstock. 26 in the gallery so far still and long way to go with hit and miss as I get at least as many rejections as approvals. Phew…not as easy as I thought…

    1. Wow. Well that’s very motivating to me to go on 🙂 It’s funny, I was reading this week an article in PDN basically stating that my approach to this is all wrong marketing-wise. But many of the photos published here have gone on to better sales, so who’s to know? In any case, what you wrote is fantastic… if I can be of any help… I know it’s not easy to start: it takes very solid guts, especially when you get a week-end reviewer from hell at SS that refuses whole batches. On the other hand, they’re the only agency with quick sales out there so that’s more motivating as you can see right away what interests buyers. It takes a long time to find a niche – heck, I’m not even there yet. But keep at it: in my first 3 months at Istock, my approval rate was 33%. I didn’t know anything back then. Since then it rose back up to 72%, and I’m above 80% at all other agencies that I actively submit to. If you have any questions, go ahead… 🙂
